On May 2nd, a new Parish Council, consisting of eleven members, will be elected. Nominations have to be submitted by April 5th. The new Council will serve for four years until May 2017.

The current Parish Council wishes to encourage residents to consider putting themselves forward , especially as several long-serving, existing members intend to stand down . The next Parish Council meeting will take place in the Parish Hall on Monday 11th February commencing at 7.30pm and interested individuals are invited to attend to see the format of the meeting and the range of topics which are on the Agenda.

In addition, a meeting’ open to all villagers, is planned for Monday, March 18th at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. This will consider such items as future village development, village amenities and traffic problems as part of the proposal to revise the Edington Development Plan, published in 2005. The meeting will be of particular interest to recent newcomers to the village as well as potential Parish Councillors.

To misquote J.F.Kennedy: “consider not what your village can do for you but what you can do for your village”. This is your opportunity!
