Saturday 21 March was a day of action as part of the national Keep Britain Tidy campaign and by chance, a number of us set out to clear the verges and paths in the village of litter. I don’t know why but there seems to be a growing tendency of anti social people to use our countryside as their dumping ground. Consequently, today we collected very many sackfuls of litter, cans and bottles. One of the aims of Wiltshire Council is to support and empower local communities and today there was ample evidence of this in action. Jerry Wickham
