Edington Parish Council have put together a package to assist those members of the community who may be affected by the coronavirus. You should have received a letter from the Parish Council outlining what we are doing, this includes a request for volunteers and a phone number for anyone seeking help. We can provide assistance with shopping, collecting and delivering prescriptions, collecting newspapers (voucher holders only), dog walking etc. in line with the latest government advice on social distancing to keep everyone safe.

VE day celebrations

VE day logoWiltshire Council have created a special VE Day at home pack to help residents of all ages celebrate and mark the 75th anniversary of this historic moment in time.

With social distancing measures still in place, the pack contains simple advice and suggestions to have a household garden party on 8 May, which this year is a bank holiday.

The packs also contains themed recipe ideas, a World War II/VE Day quiz and wordsearch, some suggested e-reading materials from the council’s library service, craft ideas on how to make bunting and paperchains, 1940s-inspired games and songs to sing to keep the family entertained.

You can find out more about the pack and download here.

Friday 1st May 2020 – Don’t delay seeking medical help because of coronavirus

Don’t delay seeking medical help because of coronavirus

People living in Wiltshire are being advised not to let worries about coronavirus stop them asking for medical help for themselves or their children if they become ill, have a serious accident or have a concern about their health.

They are also being warned that not seeking medical help for symptoms that could be the early warning signs of serious conditions such as cancer could be putting lives at risk.

The warning comes as new data shows a considerable drop in the number of people coming forward to ask their GP for help and advice during the coronavirus outbreak.
