Businesses based in Edington
A rural industrial development supporting local businesses and the local community of Edington and the surrounding villages. Edington Station Yard has been established for over twenty-five years and is located on Station Road (beyond Monastery Road) on the outskirts of the village on the road to Steeple Ashton. The development has a variety of units, which include workshops and offices all at competitive rents. Current businesses range from boat building, carpentry, vehicle refurbishing, and much more.
Supporting the local community is an important part of the way the company conducts its business and is the reason it was established in the first place. This involves a variety of activities, some of which are financial, some non-financial. The financial aspects involve annual donations to local good causes, such as village groups and functions, village lunches, two local schools who take Edington children, the village mini-bus, and local publications. On the non-financial side, the company offers support to local charities and recreational events, by providing the site to support them, or just offering to help local residents.
The company is owned by its shareholders and is run by its Board of Directors. The Board comprises:
John Pepler – Chairman
Miriam Grist – Admin Assistant
Stuart McGregor-Johnson – Company Secretary
Eric Mitchell – Managing Director
Charles Atterton – Director
John d’Arcy – Director
Phil Threlfall – Director
Phil Davies – Director
Edington Station Yard employs agents to assist with the marketing and day-to-day management of the estate. These are Carter Jonas in Oxford (daily management and rent collection) and Kavanaghs in Melksham (marketing). All in conjunction with the directors.
