Such Stuff as Dreams are made on |
General booking has just opened for Edington Arts’ next concert, The King’s Singers, probably the world’s most famous vocal ensemble, who come to Edington Priory Church on FRIDAY May 15th for a fabulous concert starting at 7pm. Three of their number have in another life sung in the choirs at the Edington Music Festival, so in a sense are “coming home”.
They will be bringing a programme of European Romantic masterpieces; chansons, lieder and part songs of the 19th and early 20th centuries, vehicles for the deepest expressions of human feeling, desire and fantasy. Be ready for extraordinary story-telling and compelling thoughts on life, love, nature, death, and even the supernatural, by Edward Elgar and Ralph Vaughan Williams, Hugo Alfvé, Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn and Franz Schubert, and Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Camille Saint-Saëns.
This will be followed by a second half of their signature exquisite close harmony which they will announce from the platform. At the end of the concert the Singers will stay on for a brief ‘meet and greet’ before heading back to London to resume their hectic schedule.
You can choose your seats, book and pay for your tickets through the Edington Arts website, www.edingtonarts.org/whats-on, or by phone on 01380 831256. We’re anticipating strong demand, so don’t delay!
