Parish Council News for May 2020

The annual Parish Council leader elections were held at the May  e- meeting John Pollard was re-elected as chair and Liz Pike as Vice chair, both were thanked for their work over the last year .

Village newsletter  – The council have started to produce a village e- news  letter to inform residents in real time of  changes taking place locally re corvid,  and it will also highlight other activities in the village . We have been very lucky to have been locked down in such lovely countryside and I know many of you have taken advantage of this in your daily exercise. With the countryside being used by an increasingly number of people it is very important to keep dogs under close control particularly near livestock and pick up their waste as this can cause illness in cows and sheep.

The thorny issue of parking will be raising its head again particularly as large farm vehicles will need access with haymaking on the horizon. Please park considerately .

Please be patient if you need to contact Wiltshire council They have diverted over 400 staff to covid activities so working a skeleton staff in other areas.

Planning   20/01695/ful convert redundant dairy into micro distillery. Primary activity will be distilling alcoholic beverages and distilled non-alcoholic beverages. Shop and bar requires for planned distillery tour and intermittent evening events at land north of court farm court lane

The council are continuing to meet monthly but now on line. Meetings as always are open to the public . Any person wishing to attend a Parish meeting should notify the council by going on to the village website and clicking on the pc link they will then be sent the link to join the meeting.

Next meeting is 8 June, provisionally.
