PC October News

We are pleased to inform you that Wiltshire Council has set aside money for work to improve the junction of Lower Road and Monastery Road. This work is scheduled to take place early next year and may cause some local disruption whilst it takes place; we will try to give you advanced notice of dates if we can.

Wiltshire Council have changed the way they provide local maintenance to the village. Since the new system has come into place very little has happened in Edington and the Parish Council are very dissatisfied with this. Emily Peplar is our parish councillor with a responsibility for roads drains etc; she is putting together a list of what currently needs attention in the village with the intention of escalating our concerns. If you know of any repairs needed e.g. pot holes, blocked drains, unmaintained footpaths, general maintenance etc. can you let her know on 07910228383 in order that we can submit as complete a list as possible to the council.

The Festive season is rapidly approaching and with that in mind we have decided this year to erect the Christmas tree in the playing field near to the Three Daggers, our reason for changing the location is that we have had difficulty safely anchoring a tree by the pond and the electric pylons have also proved a challenge in that location. We will be holding our usual lighting ceremony with carol singing and hand bell ringing on Saturday December 14th (Sunday if wet) . All welcome full details will be in the December copy of The News.
