Gardening Club November news

Have you put your “ Garden to Bed “ ? This was the subject of our November meeting.
David Robinson, a Fairfield Farm tutor came to Edington to give his advice , and a very informative meeting it was.
David started work as an actor and then travelled the world before taking up studying with RHS. after which he became a teacher in Highbury with students with learning difficulties. He now works at Fairfield Farm where his enthusiasm is passed on to his students.

We learnt about his and the colleges successes such as getting the beds ready for planting and the failures such as cutting down shrubs. Next it was our turn, David asked the members in turn to say what their successes and failures were with his advice being given along the way. It was good to learn from each other and get to know something about the members gardens.

Fairfield Farm is run on an organic basis with the students now busy raking leaves to add to the bin for future mulch so please do the same. Don’t forget to make compost with 40- 60% kitchen waste and adding shredded paper.

Fairfield Farm grows lots of plants for sale so why not visit, also delicious cakes to be had.

We wish you all a very happy Christmas
and wishing you more successes than failures for the New Year

The club doesn’t have a meeting in January but please contact Jacky for more information about the club.
