Our next meeting on Tuesday 12/05/15 will be the Resolution Meeting where we will be discussing, and voting on, “FAILING TO CARE-ASSESSMENT OF NEED IN LONG TERMCARE.” This is a very topical and relevant issue, in broad terms, so come along and have your say. An outline of the resolution can be found in the April edition of W.I. Life and copies will be available on the night.
Earthquake in Nepal: We have been asked, under the umbrella of ACWW, if we could raise some money for the above. The suggestion from committee is that we should donate the book sales proceeds and that we consider paying a little more than our usual 50p. We appreciate that many of us will have given money already, but do contribute if you can.
CENTENARY YEAR EVENTS: We are currently firming up arrangements with the Under 5s to hold a coffee and cake morning in July, proceeds from which will go to the Children’s Hospice in Salisbury.
We are putting together some new and some archive material that can be displayed at the above and other events throughout this year as part of raising the profile of the W.I.
Calling all I.T/Social media savvy members! Can anyone take the lead into launching us onto Twitter/Facebook etc.? Joining one of the 21st century’s key modes of communication would be very fitting in the Centenary Year. Please see me at the meeting or at home.
EDINGTON FAIR: We still need help on the day and also more cakes. If you can help but will not be at the next meeting please let a committee member know
See your Wiltshire Life and the events book for outings/activities etc.; particularly those closing at the meeting, or contact Clare Brown.
NFWI raffle tickets will be available from the May meeting onwards.
