WI DECEMBER/JANUARY ISSUE

As 2017 started drawing to a close our thoughts turned to the upcoming festivities and we had some fun making Christmas decorations in November.  Hopefully you will all have seen the results of our labours with lots of beautiful 3D stars glinting in the twinkling of fairy lights.   In December we will be fine tuning our voices in readiness for our Christmas celebration when we will be singing some seasonal songs led by Sian Penlington.

2018 will be a special year for Edington & Tinhead WI as we will be commemorating our 80th anniversary in March and we are looking forward to holding a couple of special events during the year.   The ethos of the WI – to educate, inform, campaign, share skills and meet new friends –  is just as prevalent now as it was in 1938 and within our Institute there is also a strong sense of community spirit with the group supporting many village activities.

New members can always be sure of a warm welcome so do come along, “try us out” and see how you feel about joining – we have come a long way from our traditional ‘Jam and Jerusalem’ image.

In point of fact we will be learning Chakra dance and relaxation techniques in January so join us in the Parish Hall on Tuesday 9 January and wear off the excesses of Christmas!

We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
